In the age of cheap liveaboards the combination of luxury cruise and diving holiday may sound unusual at first but when you go on a Go North! holiday you can expect the unusual. Starting your holiday on Hurtigruten gives you the chance to spend a few days unwinding in tranquil luxury before you explore the richness and the splendour of the Arctic, underwater as well as on dry land.

And there is another advantage: you can take your own car and pack it with everything you want to take with you. Beside direct flights from London as well as many regional departures there is a convenient ferry link from Newcastle to Bergen – just ask us for details. Talk to us; your unique holiday may be more affordable than you think.
Hurtigruten is the daily ‘post ship’ service that starts and ends in the south of Norway, in Bergen. Weaving their way throughout the islands and fjords, the Hurtigruten carries passengers, mail and goods. During the complete 12 day voyage from Bergen to Kirkenes and back to Bergen the ships call at 34 different ports, most of them never visited by commercial cruise liners. This combination of working ship and luxury cruise liner, with all the comforts of a five star hotel, does not exist anywhere else in the world.

On your way north you explore regions of exceptional natural beauty as well as great historic towns and cities, including
the beautiful Art Nouveau town of Ålesund;
the dramatic landscape of Geirangerfjord, a UNESCO world heritage site;
Trondheim, Norway’s medieval capital;
the glorious Lofoten Islands;
and Tromsø, the ‘Paris of the North’.

The voyage north to Tysfjord or Narvik takes just four days, a voyage to our emerging technical dive centre in Berlevåg takes six days. You can stay at your final destination as long as you like, or spend additional time exploring the country.
You have complete flexibility when and where you want to go back on board the Hurtigruten.
The combination of land based exploration, cruise and scuba diving makes this an ideal holiday not just for yourself as a diver but also for your non-diving friends or partner.
At the end of your holiday you will be so chilled it will snow wherever you go - trust us: we have done this journey many times ourselves.
By the way `hurtig` means `fast` (or `speedy`) in Norwegian; `fast` is not something you would naturally associate with a cruise ship. However, in the six days that it takes you to get to us from Bergen to Berlevåg you cover the equivalent of a 2 500 kilometre (1500 miles) car journey - along Norway`s long coastline the boat really is the fastest means of land based transport, in any kind of weather.
